A huge Burchells LLP contingent participated in this year's Play in a Day supporting the Legal Information Society of Nova Scotia.  The October 23 event required the group to learn and mount a version of Romeo and Juliet in a mere 24 hours. Along with great staff involvement the team included Derek Simon, Jason Cooke, Jonathan Saumier andKelly Greenwood; Andrew Rankin serves on the LISNS board of directors. 

Naiomi W. Metallic was this year's keynote speaker at the October 18, 2010 LEAF Persons Day Breakfast, celebrating the landmark 1929 "Persons Case" granting women the right to participate in all aspects of public life in Canada.  Naiomi presented a paper on Aboriginal Law and Equality Rights.

On October 13 Burchells LLP lawyer Derek Simon was named one of 21 exceptional young professionals in Nova Scotia selected to attend the 21inc Emerging Leaders Summit in November.  See Premier Darrell Dexter's press release here.
