About Leon

Leon assists clients with the resolution of contractual disputes (including construction and employment contracts), personal injury and property damage claims, family law matters, and enforcement of creditors’ rights. Leon has successfully represented clients at all levels of the Nova Scotia court system and he frequently appears in the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, the New Brunswick Court of Queen's Bench and the Small Claims Court of Nova Scotia.

Leon earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from Rutgers University in 2004 and his J.D. from Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law in 2012. During his final semester of law school Leon participated in the Clinical Law program at Dalhousie Legal Aid Service in Halifax.

Originally from the U.S. Pacific Northwest, Leon worked previously as a newspaper reporter and in the construction industry. Leon articled with Burchells and joined the firm as an associate following his call to the Nova Scotia bar in 2013. He was called to the bar in New Brunswick in 2016.

Leon is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, the Law Society of New Brunswick, and the Canadian Bar Association. He lives in Halifax with his wife and son.
