About Jennifer

Jennifer joined Burchells as an articled clerk in 2014 and an associate in 2015. Prior to joining the firm Jennifer clerked to the Honourable Justice Frans F. Slatter at the Alberta Court of Appeal.

Jennifer received her J.D. from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in 2013, and was an active member of the law school community. In her third year of studies she participated in the Clinical Law program at Dalhousie Legal Aid Service and in the judicial clerkship program at the Nova Scotia Supreme Court. She also served as an Editor-in-Chief of the Dalhousie Journal of Legal Studies, worked part-time as a tutor with the Dalhousie Writing Centre, and was a member of Dalhousie’s 2013 Philip C. Jessup International Law moot team. Jennifer is a recipient of the Horace E. Read award and the Law Foundation of Nova Scotia Scholarship.

Prior to attending law school Jennifer obtained her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from the University of Alberta.

Jennifer was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta but calls the Maritimes home. She plays recreational dodgeball with the Halifax Sport and Social Club, and in her spare time enjoys reading, cooking, and the occasional road trip.

Jennifer was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in January 2015. She is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society and the Canadian Bar Association.
